2001-2010: The Double Space Odyssey.

The exhibition pays tribute with each Sci-Fi Movies. One realized by Stanley Kubrick , "2001 A Space Odyssey" in 1968, the other one, on "2010 Odyssey 2" (in the USA: the year of the first contact), by the director Peter Hyams. ( "Outland" and "Capricorn One")

As the title indicates it, the action, 2010 Odyssey 2, takes place this commemorative year. It is thus, the opportunity for Jean-Marc Deschamps to expose a big part of  his collection, the most important in France, constituted by originals documents, pictures and accurates miniatures models. Among these last ones, uniques collectors pieces like the famous circular Space station immortalized on the 2001 A Space Odyssey poster, but also originals movies models like the "Starchild" from special effects studios.

The exhibition will take place to the Space center of Kourou Museum, French Guyana, from May till October, 2010.

The story: an American crew is sent near Jupiter to try to understand why the vessel Discovery did not give any more sign of life for a long time. Discovery 2 not being ready to launch in search of the possible survivors, it is the Soviets who take care to take aboard their vessel the American astronauts.......

2010 Odyssey 2, give answers and tracks to the questions left by Kubrick. Also, the special effects were signed by Richard Edlund who had worked on the original Star Wars trilogy.

More, a Scrapbook about these two movies models. Incredibles and very accurates pictures of the Leonov, Discovery, Space Prob, Eva Pod, Starchild.
